THE CASTLE OF SENTMENAT. Year 1056 is had the first reference. It grew around an initial nucleus. It's irregular plant, with walls that surpass the 3 meters of thickness. It consists of low plant and two floors. It must mention the return of inner tube that surrounds the low plant and two gothic arches of great dimensions. ROMANIC BELL TOWER. Constructed on rest of a pre-romanic apse (s.X). It formed set with a consecrated church year 1064 that one sank because of a fire. The excavations done by the School Factory of Sentmenat, in the middle of the decade of the 90, they have allowed to document four successive pavements, but the old one of which it belongs to pre-romanic apse before mentioned. Also was a bottle of crystal, possibly "ointmentary" with sixteen currencies of silver, fleece and copper. The origin of the currencies is of AragÛn, Valencia, Catalonia and France and his chronology dates from 1271 to the 1708. The definitive construction of the last bell tower dates from century XII. OLD RECTOR'S OFFICE. Building next to the Romanic Bell tower conserves gothics elements like the arches of century XIII to XIV as well as the architectural elements from the XVI to the XVII. In the made excavations they have been located to two tombs with Roman roofing tiles " tegula" dated between century IV to Vi as well as architectural elements from the XVI to the XVIII. Also has been an altar of marble (altar stone), that in the first made study is spoken to locate it between the century VI to the VII. This altar was reused it at the end of century X as they demonstrate graphites written in his surface. In the later excavations one has been waxable of times and currencies different, between which we will emphasize a iberic currency of century II after C., Roman currencies and mite of Alfonso III and Barcelona's money (Jaume I) (1213-1276). PARROCHIAL CHURCH. Builded in the year 1744, of bizantine style, with the apse remade this century. Located megalithic monument at the top of the "Serra Cavalera" (418m), belongs to the neolithic culture. It is attributed to the Medium Bronze Age(2700 a.C.). At the moment it is sunk because of uncontrolled excavations. TORRE ROJA. Hill fortified known formerly with the name " Puig Castellar ". Are the rest of an Iberian town of the century VI a.C., where several escavations have been made. Also is the base of a tower of observes of time medieval. CASTE OF GUANTA. Upon the hill of the "Corb" is the castle of "Guanta" or of the Moors. This castle, at the moment in ruins, was, according to the legend, refuge of count Borell. |
